San Marcos, TX: Beginning on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, Centro will be hosting a virtual weekly activity for children from San Marcos CISD teacher Diana Garcia’s class titled “Being a Global Citizen Reading Hour”.  The children will tune into a Zoom meeting to learn about the broader world by listening to stories read aloud by Ms. Garcia. Guest Readers will also be featured periodically to offer our students an array of different personalities with whom they can interact and from whom they can learn. Sessions begin at 10:00 am and last approximately 30-45 minutes.

The project’s goal is to increase exposure, not only to the Spanish language but also to world cultures through fun and enlightening children’s books. The stories will range in setting and topic but will cover themes including kindness and equal treatment to different peoples, seeking justice for ourselves and those who need our help, and even simply explorations of cultures from every corner of the world.

Centro is happy to acknowledge, with heartfelt gratitude - this event is made possible in part by support from our sponsors at A+ Federal Credit Union.   For more information please contact Dr. Ricardo Espinoza at 815 503 2250 or email: ricoespinoza@gmail.com
